Why QuickBooks Error 1334 happens :

When updating QuickBooks or repairing a QuickBooks installation, the following error is received.

Error 1334: The file [filename] cannot be installed because it cannot be found in the cabinet file [filename].

The error is resulted by a cause by a missing or damaged file.

Expected Outcome

You will be able to repair or do complete updating of QuickBooks.

Assumptions

You cannot do upgrades or repairs to  your software.

Details

Follow the steps below depending on when you encountered the error.

If you are getting an error while launching or opening QuickBooks:

Find the QuickBooks company file.
Double-click the company.qbw file to see if QuickBooks program will open/launch.
If you are unable to open QuickBooks program, try to repair QuickBooks or proceed with steps below.
If you get the error while updating, installing or repairing QuickBooks:
Perform a clean install if QuickBooks in Selective Startup. Now refer to reinstalling a Downloaded Version of QuickBooks if you downloaded your copy of QuickBooks.
If any of the errors persist, try to replace the Data1.cab from the installation CD.
To replace the Data.cab file from the installation CD:

Insert the QuickBooks installation CD into your drive and If the installation window automatically opens, close it.
Right-click the Windows Start button and select Explore. (In Windows 7 select Open Windows Explorer.)
Select the CD drive and open it (usually the D drive).
Open the QBooks folder on the CD.
Right-click the Data1.cab file and choose Copy.
If you see only Data1, that is okay. Now, you have the option turned on to hide file extensions on your operating system.
Open the QuickBooks installation folder C:\Program Files\Intuit.
Now, Open the Components folder.
Please, Open the PConfig folder.
Right-click the Data1.cab file. Now choose Rename, and enter Data1.old as the new file name.
Right-click in the PConfig folder and choose Paste to put the new Data1.cab file that you copied in step 5 into the folder.
Start QuickBooks
