QuickBooks error code is also written as Error code C=224
What Does Error Code C=224 Mean?
According to Intuit, QuickBooks Error 224/ Error Code C=224 can occur in below situations:

  • While you are backing up a company file (.qbw) from the File->Save Copy or Backup… menu selection.
  • When you are running the Verify Data utility from the File->Utilities->Verify Data menu selection
  • Or in case you are, running the Rebuild Data utility from the File->Utilities->Rebuild Data menu selection

Error C=224 during backup, or a file utility

In simple words the error C=224 occurs during a file operation such as Backing up or  Running a file utility.

Why does error C =224 happens?

Your company data file may be damaged. The C=224 error is caused by broken links between transactions. This is a non-fatal error that will not prevent you from using your data file. The error may appear several times after clicking OK.

How to fix it?

When the error appears during a file operation, click OK until the operation completes or another message appears. If the error appears many times, it might be easier to press and hold the Enter key.

About QuickBooks Error 226
Important: Before proceeding, make a backup of the company file.
Press the Ctrl key while clicking Go Online. A message appears. The steps to take vary, depending on the message.

If the message requests a PIN:
Release the Ctrl key, enter the PIN, and then press the Ctrl key again while clicking OK.
  1. The message: “Your last online connection was not completed. QuickBooks is having a problem recovering from this condition” appears.
Continue pressing the Ctrl key and click OK.
2) Another message: “Do you wish to resend this request again to your financial institution, do it only after speaking to the Online Banking Technical Support” appears.
Continue pressing the Ctrl key while you click OK.
The message will close.
3)If the message states “Your last online connection was not completed. QuickBooks is having a problem recovering from this condition“:
Keep pressing the Ctrl key down and click OK.
4) Another message appears stating: “Would you like to skip re-sending online transactions? Only do this after speaking to the Online Banking Technical Support.”
Press the Ctrl key, and click Yes, which displays a window requesting a PIN.
Enter the PIN and click OK. This clears the stuck request allowing connection to the online bank account and access to transactions.
